Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
DPQ analyzes DEI indicators within the scope of OMNES – Observatory for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This observatory aims to contribute to the promotion and enhancement of diversity at Técnico, ensuring regular monitoring, analysis, and dissemination of information that allows for the identification of challenges in promoting equal opportunities and the full integration of all people in its community. It thus seeks to contribute to a Técnico with more diversity, more equity, and more inclusion.
Diversity
Objective: To attract and integrate people with different characteristics, broadening the school’s representativeness.
Key question: Are we attracting and integrating diverse profiles?
Vision: To promote the presence of different genders, ages, nationalities, physical abilities, neurodiversities, and other attributes in technical, administrative, research, teaching, and study teams.
Equity
Objective: To identify and remove barriers, ensuring equal opportunities for all.
Key question: Are we removing obstacles and ensuring equal opportunities?
Vision: Ensure that no individual or group is discriminated against—directly or indirectly—on the basis of gender, age, ethnicity, social origin, nationality, language, religion, beliefs, health, disability, skills, sexual orientation, gender identity, appearance, or other personal characteristics.
Inclusion
Goal: Create an environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and able to contribute fully.
Key question: Does everyone feel respected, valued, and supported?
Vision: Foster a climate of trust, cooperation, and mutual respect, where each person can express their authentic identity, feel a sense of belonging, and perceive differences as competitive advantages.
